Biography

Nancy E. Hopkins, Q.C. is a partner with the law firm of McDougall Gauley, LLP in Saskatoon, where she practices business law, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions law and corporate governance.  She currently serves as a director of a number of corporations.  On the Board of Cameco Corporation (CCO on the TSX; CCJ on the NYSE), she chairs the Nominating, Governance & Risk Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee.  She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Growthworks Opportunity Fund Inc., where she chairs the Audit Committee.  As a member of the Board of Directors of the CPPIB, she chairs the Governance Committee.  Among her other board service, Nancy is a former Chair of the Board of Governors of the University of Saskatchewan, the Saskatoon Airport Authority and SGI Canada. In October 2012, Nancy was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. This medal is awarded to Canadians in recognition of the outstanding contributions they have made to their respective communities.  She is a past recipient of the Athena Award. In December 2013, Nancy was revealed as a recipient of the Women’s Executive Network’s (WXN) 2013 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards in the Corporate Directors category.  These Awards celebrate and highlight the professional achievements of women across the country in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.  Award winners were selected based on their strategic vision and leadership, commitment to their communities and the financial performance of their organizations. Nancy is a speaker at the Women’s International Forum.
