Study to discover strengths of UK oil and gas supply chain, Will Green Posted on Supply Management

The economic contribution of the oil and gas industry’s supply chain to the UK is to be the subject of a study.Oil & Gas UK, which represents the industry, has asked Ernst & Young to carry out the work using data from more than 1,000 companies, covering 42 sub-sectors and including factors such as skills and exports. The information gained will be used to develop three market intelligence reports on those sub-sectors identified as offering “high growth, profitability and capability for UK companies”. Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK of Ruthin and the Wales Division of Balfour Beatty Construction Services UK, a 50:50 joint venture partnership, have been contracted to deliver the construction, civil and electrical works for Vattenfall’s flagship 76-turbine Pen y Cymoedd project in Neath Port Talbot. Wind energy developer Vattenfall has awarded contracts worth more than £100m which will support more than 350 Welsh jobs over the next two years. Group alleges animal cruelty at 2 Alberta chicken farm, by Vivian Luk, The Canadian Press, Posted on CTV News

VANCOUVER — McDonald’s Canada says it does not buy eggs that are produced from two Alberta farms featured in a gruesome documentary showing chickens subject to what an animal rights group is calling “egregious animal cruelty.”However, the fast food giant has confirmed in an email to The Canadian Press that it does buy eggs from a company headquartered in Ontario that does business with the two farms featured on CTV’s W5 last week.
