DESCARTES buys IMPATEX FREIGHT SOFTWARE and COMPUDATA, posted on 4-Traders

A Waterloo, Ontario-based logistics software provider, Descartes Systems Group has announced that it has bought 2 European companies. The firms are United Kingdom-based Impatex Freight Software Limited, a freight forwarding firm, and Compudata, a supply chain integration provider in Switzerland. Descartes acquired Impatex with an all-cash purchase price of 5.1 million British pounds, about $8.3 million, and Compudata with an all-cash purchase price of 16 million Swiss francs, about $17.9 million.  [Read More…]

Landstar completes sale of supply chain subsidiaries by Michael Clinton, posted on the Jacksonville Business Journal

Landstar System Inc. completed its $87 million sale of its Michigan-based supply chain subsidiaries to XPO Logistics Inc. on Monday. The subsidiaries include Premier Logistics Inc. — which included National Logistics Management and Interactive Capacity Gateway LLC — and A(3) Integration LLC. Another Record Year for Canadian Farmers, posted on EIN Newsdesk

With record high yields this year, overall grain production is well ahead of last year’s crop. Canadian farmers produced 95.5 million tonnes of grain to date this year, a significant increase over last year’s crop of 75.4 million tonnes. Despite a late start to spring seeding, weather conditions that prevailed throughout the summer were ideal, creating almost perfect growing conditions and record production for both canola and wheat, especially in the West.
