In an historic transfer, the First Nations Health Authority has officially taken over health care responsibilities for B.C.’s aboriginal peoples.The new health care model includes three partners – the federal and provincial governments and the B.C. First Nations Health Authority representing aboriginal governments – and is the first of its kind in Canada. “Now we will be equal partners in the delivery of services,” Xaxli’p Chief Art Adolph told the News at the time the transfer deal was signed.  [Read More…]
