OTTAWA – Efforts by the Conservative government to sell Americans on the virtues of Canadian natural resources failed to impress those south of the border, according to a new report, and even left them puzzled over assertions that Canada is America’s best friend. A government-commissioned Harris-Decima pre-testing report on a U.S. advertising blitz by Natural Resources Canada earlier this year found that focus groups in Washington, D.C., were befuddled by the campaign’s original tagline — “America’s best friend is America’s best energy solution.” [Read More…]

A natural gas pipeline in the Peace River Regional District that’s being proposed by Nova Gas Transmission Ltd. (NGTL) could be good news for the northern B.C. construction industry. The proposed North Montney Mainline would deliver gas from the company’s Groundbirch Mainline to the NGTL system 190 km north of Fort St. John. The 305-km pipeline would contain metering facilities, valve sites and, possibly, compression facilities. West Coast States, B.C., To Align Carbon Reduction Efforts, Posted on OPB

SEATTLE — Oregon, Washington, California and British Columbia are aligning their efforts to reduce carbon pollution, with an announcement scheduled for Monday. Washington Governor Jay Inslee told EarthFix the new plan will limit CO2 emissions on the regional level, and he didn’t spare any criticism for the lack of definitive action at the federal level.
