Originating in Toronto, Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) has blossomed into a national and increasingly international force, dedicated to advancing the role and recognition of women and other underrepresented groups in Canada’s renewable energy sector and beyond, and supporting projects and initiatives that raise the quality of life for everyone. With strong roots in Canada, WiRE has expanded its reach across the country and internationally, working closely with the invaluable support of the Canadian Embassies, Consulates and High Commissions to foster a global network. Recognizing that true progress requires collective action. WiRE has broadened its scope to be inclusive of everyone, with a continued emphasis on empowering women and other underrepresented groups within the industry. Understanding that real and lasting change can only be achieved together, WiRE fosters a supportive community through mentorship, networking, professional development, awards, field trips and other capacity building programs.
