CHRIS MILBURN is ManagingDirector with FTI Consulting andis based in Toronto. He has 18 years of experience quantifying economic damagesand performing business valuations in the context of complex disputes. Chrishas worked on large NAFTA, ICSID, and ICC arbitrations and litigation inCanadian and US courts in many industries including mining, oil and gas,manufacturing, electricity generation, textiles, financial services, andenvironmental services. His work experience includes matters in Canada, theUnited States, Europe, Asia, South America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.Chris has qualified as an expert witness and provided testimony relating to thequantification of economic damages on a number of occasions including at thePermanent Court of Arbitration at the World Bank in Washington D.C. Chris hasbeen recognized as a leading expert in the field of damages and valuation inthe International Who’s Who of Arbitration Expert Witnesses for by Who’s WhoLegal since 2014.Types of Cases on which Chris has worked include: valuation ofbusiness interest(s) following expropriation; quantification of economicdamages including lost profits, and wasted expenses analyses due to breach ofcontract; and forensic/financial investigations. Chris is a CharteredProfessional Accountant (CPA), a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and aChartered Business Valuator (CBV). Chris is also a Qualified Valuator under theCanadian Institute of Mining Metallurgy and Petroleum on Valuation of MineralProperties (CIMVAL) Standards and Guidelines for Valuation of MineralProperties. Chris speaks regularly on the quantification of economic damagesand valuation issues and has been involved in the education and certificationprocess of business valuation candidates with the Canadian Institute ofChartered Business Valuators for many years.
