PETERTHOMA has been an active voice in the planning and developmentsector for the past 20 years. Hisconsulting practice is focused in the areas of real estate strategy,feasibility analysis, market forecasting, municipal governance and stakeholderengagement. Peter spent the first half of his career withPricewaterhouseCoopers (pwc) Real Estate Advisory Practice. In 2004, Peter andhis colleagues launched urbanMetrics, a firm that provides customized marketanalytics to developers and government in support of the planning approvalprocess. Over the past two decades Peter has led dozens of high profileconsulting assignments covering the full spectrum of real estate andinfrastructure-based asset classes, including shopping centres, officebuildings, main streets, highway corridors and transit stations. For the pastseveral years his consulting work has involved several age-friendly communityretrofits for various municipalities across Ontario, including Caledon, BradfordWest Gwillimbury and Elliot Lake. Peter holds a M.Sc. in Planning from theUniversity of Toronto and a BA in Urban Studies from Concordia University,Montreal. He is a member of the CanadianInstitute of Planners, Ontario Professional Planners Institute, the Associationof Ontario Land Economists and Lambda Alpha, an honorary society for theadvancement of land economics.
