KEVINLEE is a Professional Engineer with a Masters inArchitecture, and has worked in the housing industry for over 25 years. Withhis experience in both the public and private sectors, Kevin has brought awealth of experience and knowledge in housing policy, technology, business andgovernment relations to the CEO position at CHBA. Since taking the helm at CHBAtwo and a half years ago, Kevin has worked actively with the Board and theprovincial and local levels of the Association to strengthen CHBA as the “voiceof the residential construction industry”. Strengthening the government advocacy, communications and strategicalliances of the CHBA, all bolstered by reinforced Association governance, hasresulted in greater impact for CHBA and its members. Under Kevin’s leadership,CHBA is squarely focused on helping members’ businesses succeed and prosper. Kevinbegan his career in housing in the trades. He later ran his own housing consultingbusiness for 11 years. He spent 2 years as VP Operations of a NASDAQ e-learningsystems company and worked in the federal government for 9 years as anexecutive overseeing such programs as the $1 billion ecoENERGY Retrofit HomesProgram. In 2009, he became NRCan’s first ever member of the CanadianCommission on Building and Fire Codes. Kevin designed and built his own R-2000Advanced Home in 1997, which was featured on the Discovery Channel. Today,Kevin, his wife, and three daughters continue to live in this home on the banksof the Rideau River just South of Ottawa in Manotick.
