GREGCHRISTENSON isPresident and co-owner, with partner Peter Dirksen, of ChristensonDevelopments. Greg is a graduate of the University of Alberta (B.Sc.) in CivilEngineering and is a professional Engineer licensed in Alberta. Under hisfather's company, Chris-Con Builders Ltd. designed/built over 1,500 qualityrental apartment units in Edmonton, Whitecourt, Edson, etc. In 1985, Gregactivated Christenson Developments and then Christenson Property Management tohandle receiver management of commercial and multi-family housing for financecompanies, investors, and out of province owners. Since 1989, with PeterDirksen, Christenson Developments has developed and built over 3,000 activeadult bungalow and condominium apartments in Edmonton and area, and over 2,000independent, assisted living, and long term care units. The Christenson Groupof Companies has led in the design and development of the Urban Villageconcept; which creates walkable sustainable communities of 12 to 50 acres withvarious choices in multi-family lifestyles, linear parks, grocery anchoredretail and commercial, and public amenities such as recreation centres and thearts. Award winning examples include Railtown, Creekside, Governors Hill, Centrein the Park, and Emerald Hills urban village. Greg owns Christenson Equitieswhich owns over 1,000 units, and Christenson Communities which manages luxuryaging in place retirement communities such as Devonshire Village, CitadelVillage, Bedford Village, Glastonbury Village, Our Parents Home in Edmonton andRoyal Oak Village in Lacombe, Timberstone Mews in Red Deer, and Park Avenue inRocky Mountain House. Greg is a past President of the Edmonton, Alberta, andCanadian Home Builders Associations (C.H.B.A.) and is a past Chair of theEdmonton Chamber of Commerce and of the Greater Edmonton Regional Chambers ofCommerce. Greg has served on many industry committees on affordable housing,building codes, downtown redevelopment, arena relocation, property taxes, andmany other for CHBA, UDI, and other industry groups. Christenson Group ofCompanies is active in charity work for credible not for profits including theFace Off for Alzheimer's Pro-Am Hockey Tournament, Habitat Day in the CapitalRegion, and actively supports MacEwan University, University of Alberta, andAugustana College.
