Canadian Standards Association (CSA Group), launched a project to develop a new National Standard of Canada (NSC) for Long-term care home operations and infection prevention and control (CSA Z8004). The purpose of this standard is to provide guidance for the implementation of systems and processes for infection prevention and control in LTC homes. The National Standard of Canada (NSC) is focused on safe operating, and infection prevention and control in LTC homes.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Provide high-level summary of Z8004
  • Describe the scope of the Z8004 Standard
  • Explain the CSA Group standard development process
  • Summarize the supporting enhanced engagement activities
