RON P. KING, CAMS is the Senior Vice-President and Head of Corporate and Canadian BankingCompliance for the The Bank of Nova Scotia. Ron is responsible for compliancewithin Canadian Banking, Head Office control functions and the complianceprograms that apply across the Bank’s lines of business enterprise-wideincluding Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-TerroristFinancing, Ethics, Privacy and Economic Sanctions. He supports line management in assessing andmanaging compliance risks and develops global standards. Ron has over 35 years’ experience in thefinancial services industry. He has helda variety of progressively senior roles in retail banking, commercial banking,internal audit and compliance functions. Ron was Scotiabank’s Chief Anti-MoneyLaundering Officer from 2004 until 2014 and has been frequently called uponspeak at Anti-Money Laundering conferences and workshops including the ACAMSInternational Money Laundering Conference, The ACFCS International FinancialCrime Conference, The Canadian Institute’s Annual Forum on Anti-MoneyLaundering, The Global Payments Forum, the Global Sanctions & OFACCompliance Conference, the Mexican Banker’s Association, the Puerto RicoBankers Association and the Chilean Bankers Association. Ron currently is chairman of the CanadianBankers Association Money Laundering Working group and is a member of Canada’sAnti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Regime Advisory Committee.
