DAN RUCHis Vice President,Chief Compliance Officer, and Chief Privacy Officer for Equitable Bank. In thisrole he is responsible for all aspects of compliance including anti-moneylaundering and anti-terrorist financing, regulatory compliance management,privacy, consumer disclosures, complaint management, as well as corporate secretaryfunction. With over 25 years of both consulting and senior corporateexperience, Mr. Ruch brings a practical approach to both AML/ATF and compliancematters, balancing the changing needs of business requirements with theevolving regulatory obligations in an increasingly complex global marketplace.Dan has extensive experience working with boards of directors, regulators andsenior executives both as an executive in corporations and as a managementconsultant providing advisory services to financial institutions,pharmaceutical/healthcare, and consumer products companies. Dan recentlycompleted the Directors Education Program at Rotman School of Business and hasreceived the corporate directors’ designation ICD.D. Dan is well positioned toprovide insights into compliance and regulatory matters. His knowledge andexperience in both compliance and business processes allows him to identify,assess, and mitigate risks quickly and effectively. Mr. Ruch also hassignificant experience working with third-party service providers toeffectively manage money laundering, terrorist financing, privacy and dataprotection risks internationally. He has developed, negotiated and managedoutsourcing contracts with third parties in Canada, U.S. and Europe. Inaddition, Dan has conducted risk assessments on behalf of clients atthird-party operations. Mr. Ruch is active in several committees of theCanadian Bankers Association. Dan has spoken on anti-money laundering, privacy,and regulatory compliance matters at various conferences including The CanadianInstitute, Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) and the CanadianCorporate Counsel Association. Dan has also provided governance, risk andcompliance related training to companies and associations. Mr. Ruch holds aMasters in Business Administration from McMaster University and a Bachelor ofArts in Economics from York University.
